Customer Magnetism was founded in 2000 as the search engine optimization division of Goodman Technology, a subsidiary of Goodman & Company. Kurt Noer, the founder of Customer Magnetism purchased Goodman's share of the company in 2003 and relocated it from Norfolk, Virginia to Virginia Beach, Virginia. In 2009, Customer Magnetism was rebranded as a digital marketing agency. In 2010, Customer Magnetism moved into its current headquarters located in a 12,000 square-feet facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Customer Magnetism also launched LocalMarketingExpo.com in 2010 to an effort to educate business owners on various forms of marketing, including a speaker from Google. In 2013, Customer Magnetism began tracking the Top 10 Most Viral Infographics
